Spring Pins
The Slotted Spring Pin is a low cost, highly versatile component which has simplified many assembly and manufacturing processes.
Originally manufactured according to DIN 1481 (heavy duty) and DIN 7346 (light duty), which has been superseded by ISO 8752 and ISO 13337 respectively, with inch sizes generally confirming to ANSI B18.8.2.
They are formed by rolling steel strip to form a slotted cylinder and are produced accurately to a free diameter slightly larger than the receiving hole with one or both ends being chamfered.
